Do you know what goes into paving your roads? Last Wednesday the Lawrence County CEO class visited Ambraw Asphalt. Troy Zeigler and his team provided a great overview of what it takes to make the asphalt used to pave our roads. Troy talked about the bidding process. Ambraw reviews job that have been put out for bid. They select the jobs they want and prepare their bid. Their bid must address the specs in the job. Labor, materials and other costs must be determined to submit the bid. We enjoyed seeing how they mix the asphalt. The mix must meet job specs. If job specifications are not met penalties could be assessed. It was great to see trucks loaded and the asphalt plant. Thank you Ambraw Asphalt for a great visit.
