Thursday the Lawrence County CEO class visited Mullens Dressing and Flying S. We had a great day touring both these businesses. Our first stop was Mullens Dressing. We were met by Penny Shaw owner. Penny talked about the history of Mullens. After the war, John Mullens moved the dressing to Illinois and opened the manufacturing and bottling plant. Over the years it has manufactured the Mullens brand. Penny has a huge passion for economic development. When she heard it was for sale she knew she needed to do her part to promote development in the small town of Palestine. Penny talked about her marketing plan and vision for Mullens. She reminded the class they must have a passion for their business. Love what you do. Identify your competitors and how your product or service is unique and meets the needs of the public. The class was very impressed with the Mullens business and their products. We look forward to seeing the Palestine community grow. Thank you Penny for a great visit.
